The department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department was formed and developed with a patient centric philosophy, keeping in view the non availability of proper care for maxillofacial problems of the rural population in this part of the state.

Oral and Maxillofacial surgery is concerned with surgical procedures to treat many diseases, injuries and defects in the head, neck, face, jaws and the hard and soft tissues of the oral (mouth) and Cranio-maxillofacial (jaws and face) region. It involves Head and neck cancer, Cosmetic facial surgery, Cleft/Craniofacial surgery, Cranio-maxillofacial trauma, Head and neck reconstruction (plastic surgery of the head and neck region), Maxillofacial regeneration (reformation of the facial region by advanced stem cell technique)

Department of OMFS deals with the following:

 Diagnosis and treating diseases of the teeth and the entire maxillofacial region.

Surgical reconstruction of deficient bone  and soft tissue structure in the jaws.

Treat head and neck trauma .

Diagnosis and treatment of pain in oro-facial region( Neuralgias, Atypical facial pains, facial pains)

Diagnosis and treatment of oral cancer and other diseases in the maxillofacial region.

Surgical corrective jaw surgery to improve the function and appearance (Or).

Perform facial cosmetic procedures to enhance facial appearance and function.

Diagnosis, non surgical and surgical treatment of Temporomanidibular Joint disorders.  

The department has some of the best outpatient and inpatient treatment facilities. Minor surgical procedures are performed on a day to day basis, most of them comprising of wisdom teeth removal, pre prosthetic surgery and other minor procedures.

We have dedicated Major Operation Theatre Complex that includes wel equipped Major Operation Theatre, ICU, Male & Female wards.
