1. Orthodontics and
Dentofacial Orthopedics

Advanced orthodontic learning. Clinical exposure. Mentorship-led development.

The MDS program in Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics at KLRS Lenora Institute of Dental Sciences is designed to develop advanced knowledge of tooth alignment, occlusion and dentofacial development. Students build an understanding of diagnosis, treatment planning and orthodontic care through academic and clinical learning. With structured training and faculty guidance, the program helps students strengthen their ability to assess cases and plan appropriate orthodontic treatment. The three-year MDS program provides specialised postgraduate education for BDS graduates seeking advanced training in orthodontics.

3. Clinical Infrastructure

Clinical Learning Through Real Cases

Clinical exposure is an important part of postgraduate orthodontic training at LIDS. Students learn to assess patients, understand different types of malocclusion and develop treatment plans while working under faculty supervision.

The clinical learning environment allows students to connect their academic understanding with practical orthodontic care. Through regular case assessment and treatment planning, students gradually build the skills needed to manage orthodontic cases.

4. Faculty & Mentorship

Shaping Confident Smiles Through Learning & Practice

At the Department of Orthodontics, we help students develop strong academic knowledge and practical skills while understanding the importance of patient care. Our training combines classroom learning with hands-on clinical experience, giving undergraduate and postgraduate students the confidence to handle real-world orthodontic cases. The department keeps up with new techniques, technology and developments in the field, helping students stay updated and improve their clinical skills. Along with technical knowledge, we focus on building compassionate professionals who understand that orthodontic care is about more than creating healthy smiles.

6. Student Achievements

Learning Beyond the Curriculum

Students at LIDS are encouraged to take part in academic activities, research initiatives, conferences, workshops and professional competitions. These opportunities help postgraduate students develop their knowledge while gaining experience in presenting and discussing their work.

Participation in academic and research activities also gives students opportunities to explore areas of interest within orthodontics and build confidence as future dental specialists. LIDS highlights these activities as part of its wider approach to learning beyond the regular curriculum.

7. Research & Publications

Building Knowledge Through Orthodontic Research

Research is an important part of postgraduate dental education at LIDS. Students and faculty are encouraged to explore research questions, present their findings and engage with developments in dental sciences.

For MDS students, research and dissertation work provide an opportunity to study orthodontic concepts and clinical approaches in greater depth while developing an evidence-based approach to dental practice. LIDS also encourages students and faculty to participate in scientific presentations and academic publications.
